There are a number of ways to increase productivity in your office. A more efficient office will be able to produce more work, a higher level of output, which will lead to increased profits. In any business this is the most important thing so any manager is going to be interested in ways to increase the productivity of their office.

Keeping a clean and tidy office can actually help improve productivity, as not only does it look more professional and make the work environment more pleasant, it will also help motivate staff. Having a commercial cleaning company come through the office once or twice a week will make a big difference to the cleanliness of your office and they will clean the bathrooms, the kitchen, empty the rubbish and handle the carpet cleaning.
Keep the office clean
Even something as simple as keeping the office clean and tidy can help increase productivity. A cluttered work space can, surprisingly, make it hard to think clearly and can even create a more stressful environment. Hire a professional cleaner to come through once or twice a week to do the kitchens, bathrooms, steam clean the carpet and wash windows. They will also empty the rubbish bins. If you have paper recycling bins get this collected as often as possible so you don’t have overflowing bins.
Organisation
Put organised systems into place that staff can follow and lead by example by being punctual and organised. At meetings have everything ready to go on time and keep all your documents together and bound neatly in folders. Staff can be in charge of organising their own desk space in a way that suits them. If some staff members always have messy desks perhaps some training in organisational skills would be beneficial. If staff are organised they will get so much more done within the working day.
Motivation
Keeping staff motivated will help increase productivity. If staff are happy to be at work and feel that their efforts are properly rewarded then they will work harder and more efficiently which will boost productivity. Give staff a reason to be enthusiastic about working hard. Have rewards for hard work such as gifts, days off, pay increases or bonuses.
Take a lunch break
Make sure that staff don’t work through their lunch breaks. No matter how busy they are or how much work they have to do it is important to take a break. If you get too tired or work at something too long you can start to make mistakes. Taking a break will also help you to come back refreshed and look at the problem with new eyes. Make sure staff sit down and enjoy their lunch breaks without having to think about work at all.
Training
Training is an important way to increase productivity within your office as well as improve the skill level within your staff. Staff should receive training when they initially start working for you but they also should continue to receive ongoing training, which will not only improve their skills but benefit your business.
